R Ragdyer May 26, 2005 #2 Most probably, the cell was formatted as Text before you entered the formula. Change the format to "Number" or "General", then re-enter the formula. Keyboard shortcut is: Select the cell, then, <Ctrl> <Shift> <~>, Then <F2>, Then <Enter>.

T TazGuy37 May 26, 2005 #3 Perhaps you're in formula view. Try (this works in 2000, not sure about other versions) Control-` to see if you've inadvertently selected that mode.
