What do you mean exactly?

Do you mean, what does the phrase "formula syntax" mean?

It means: the symbols and terms that you use to build a formula, and the
rules that govern how you do that.

Do you mean: what is the syntax of an Excel formula?

That is much harder to explain. The general form is simply:

=expression

(For backward-compatibility, Excel also recognizes another form. I forget
what it is. Ignore it. It is deprecated.)

For further information, click on Help > Excel Help (F1), and enter "formula
syntax" (without quotes) in the search field. Then click on the link "About
formulas". Also click on the link "About calculation operators".
