I have columns A and B column A has names column B has
numbers. I want to run a formula that will not only give
me the max number in B but give me the corresponding name
in column A.

You'll need 2 formulas as a formula can only display 1 result. The formula
that returns the matching value in column A can be something like this:

=INDEX(A1:A10,MATCH(MAX(B1:B10),B1:B10,FALSE))
