Formulas in Excel

I am trying to calculate a complicated formula in Excel.
(20 people playing daily in groups of 4, each playing for 5 days. Each day
the group of 4 must be different to the previous days selection, so no one
plays with the same player more than once.)
can this be done, and if so how?

Well it certainly can be done, and likely you can do it in Excel, but I
would likely choose Access. That is because I have worked with Access more
and my mind tends to move that way.

I would think you could make a list of the 20 names and set up a 2D
matrix for each day. Combining them would produce the 3D matrix. I don't
think it would be too hard. However I suspect you want to do something more
than just input names, you could do that with Word. Are you going to keep
scores or record them? Who is going to access and work with the data, who
will see the data. Consider what happens if one player misses a day etc. I
would guess there are already rules about much of this and you should, I
would think, want to work them into your project. You also likely will want
to make this a work in progress for a few rounds to see what needs to be
changed.

Good Luck
