formulas not calculating

I have an Excel file that carries info from one worksheet to another via a
formula. Today I opened this file and when I enter data into the cell that I
have moving to another worksheet, the cell on that second worksheet is still
blank. The formula is still there and correct but None of my formulas that
move information are working. I left this file open and tried another file
with the same type of formulas and the same thing is happening on those
files. However, if I close the original file with the problem and then open
another file, the formulas in that second file work. The data is transferred
correctly. If I reopen that original bad file, the error starts to happen on
all my Excel files again. I have not made any changes to the Calculation tab
and it still is on Automatic. I am perplexed. Any ideas.??

Hi Banker,

The formula is still there and correct but None of my formulas that
move information are working

This does indicate the file has been saved with calc set to manual. OPen the
file and check the calc setting. After setting back to auto, save the file
again.

Excel sets it calculation options based on the FIRST file you open. This is
consistent with the behaviour you describe.
