Formulas Using One Cell

I am new to Excel, so please bear with me as I explain my problem.

I am trying to create a cell that will automatically divide the number that
I input by two. I know that if I enter "=A2/B2" in cell C, it will give me
the answer. However, I need this number to be in cell A, rather then C.

What I'm doing is copy and pasting a report from one program into Excel.
The first meathod "=A2/B2" will not work as it will mess with the sequence of
the copy and paste command. Basically I need to copy and past from the
report, and have Excel divide cell "A" by two automatically.

Is there ANY way to do this?

Is this something you will be doing often or a one time kind of copy and
paste? coule you create a column to the right of the last column of your
data (lets say your data ends at column G, use column H and put the formula
=A2/2, copy that formula down. Then you could copy, paste special....values
back into column A.

or

if it is possible use a column to the right to input your number (lets say
H2) and then in A2 put the formula =H2/2

It is not very clear to me what you want to do, but perhaps the following
will be useful. Copy-and-paste the desired cells; put the number 2 into any
cell and copy the cell; then select the pasted cells and right-click Paste
Special Divide.
