Fornula does not calculate

I have three sheets in a workbook that display the
formula I enter and will not display the result. The
formula references a named cell on the cover page in the
book. The same formula works for all of the other sheets
in the workbook.

the cell is probably formated as cell. goto 'Format -
Cells' and change this to 'General' and re-enter the
formula

1) Check that you don't have View Formulas enabled: Type CTRL-` (accent
grave, above the Tab key and to the left of the Keyboard 1 on a US-style
keyboard).

2) If your cell is formatted as Text, XL won't try to parse it as a
formula. Format the cell as General and reenter it.

That did it they were formatted as text
