FP 2000 not deleting files on server

I corrected my "service .cnf" error problem by opening the site on the web
and deleting files there. (Evidently I had gone over 50mb limit that church
pays for). All is successfully updated now. Whew!!! Anyhow, when I did
this, I was startled to see that there were pages and photos there from 3
years ago that should have been deleted as I published. I publish changed pp
only and had been asked by FP "If I wanted to delete files on the server
that were not on disk web". I always said Yes to All. How come this
happened and how can I keep it from happening again (without going to server
and deleting files from there)????????...... Millie

oddly enough the fp client will only delete files that don't exist on the
local web when you're publishing "changed pages only"

you may be able to get it synced up if you open the online web:
file/ open web/ (type in the http:// address)
when it opens hit tools/ recalculate hyperlinks
close the online web and try a republish from the local web (changed pages
only and maybe after you do a hyperlink recalculation on the local web too)

I already did what you suggested. I do publish changed pages only after I
delete pp and photos that are old (therefore not on the local web, if I
understand that term correctly) and I do not want them on the site anymore.

This happens when the local and remote sites are not in sync.

Example, you publish the local copy to another folder, and then work from that folder making changes
and deletion and then publish to the remote site. The new local copy was no longer in sync with the
remote site, so files do not get deleted.

How do I get the remote site (I assume you mean on the web server) and my
local machine site in sync... I always work from the folder on my disk and
then publish ..... Millie

Publishes the remote/live site back to the folder with your local copy on your HD

It would probably be easier to just publish the entire site, overwriting everything on the server, unless you have some data, like a discussion web or guestbook that you need to save

OK. Then I assume it would delete files on my local machine that were not on

It should prompt you. However once you have publish down, check your files and delete any that
should be there, then publish back to the remote server.

In both cases use the Change Page Only option
