FP 2002 - creating a mailto: link with a Bcc option

Marian

When creating a hyperlink for an email address, I would
like to send one mailto:[email protected] link to the
persons email and then send a blind copy to to another
email address. How can I do this??? I am using
FrontPage 2002. Can this be written into html? If so
what is the html that I would use??

Thank You

This puts the bcc in the subject box along with the
suject title, not the Bcc line, any other suggestions
that I might try?? Thanks a bunch..

If you get this to work, the user clicking the email link will see the BCC content when it loads in
their email application

Not necessarily. Admittedly, this mailto thing is a sorry way to send
emails, and of course it depends on which email client you are using, but I
have seen those where you needed to enable extended addresses to see the BCC
field.

I did get it work by a little different html (in my reply
to the answerer) and it is ok if the user sees the blind
copy. Thanks for helping out on these forums, they are
so helpful!! Have a great day!!

If users are using OE and have the BCC field viewable then they would see it. BCC is normally use to
hide from the recipient of the email that a copy was sent to someone else.

It would be better set up a autoforwarder, and send the email to a single address which then
forwards to other addresses.

Your answer and mine are the same - only the bcc and the subject are swapped
in sequence.

Definitely.

Do you think that the email still bcc's even if it is not
configured on the email client?? Also, other than using
the mailto: feature or using a form; what other ways
would you suggest to link emails??? Thanks.

I have never set up an autoforwarder, so would have to
learn how to do that, any suggestions? I was not able to
find the subject in either of my FP2002 text books. 1.
Step by Step Microsoft FrontPage Version 2002 or 2.
Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Unleashed.

Thanks

You would have to contact your web host, as it is a function of the mail server, not the web server
or FP.
