FP 2002 keeps crashing - Sefan Rusynko can you help??

My FP started responding at a crawl, and then crashed. I found a note from
Stefan Rusynko suggesting delete all FP Temp files, delete all hidden .web
files, and delete cmdui.prf file (didn't have it in my sys). Have deleted
all FP Temp files and hidden .web files, and have reinstalled FP. It's still
crashing! When I open my web and try to "edit with MS FP", the home page
opens, but when I try to view files and open a different file, it is then
that it goes down. I've also tried opening FP first and hitting the web from
it, but the same thing happens.

Can anyone help??

Download FPcleaner from www.95isalive.com/fixes and run the routines
to delete temporary files, web cache files and Restore Toolbars and
Menus (which deletes cmdui.prf).
Note that cmdui.prf is contained in a hidden system folder at
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\FrontPage\State

Ron ..

Did as you suggested.

FPcleaner confirmed that there was no cmdui.prf file. It also deleted 23
temp files that were set up after I cleaned them all out yesterday.

However, my problem still exists!!!!

Any other suggestions? As I mentioned in my first note, I did reinstall FP
....

Thanks.

Lesley

Sorry to be so long getting back to this ... out of country with no access to
web! I did repair and then reinstall FP as recommended but still had the
problem! We then loaded FP onto another computer - ran into exactly the same
problem!! So I called my web host, and they discovered a corrupted file that
was causing the problem!! It now seems to be fixed, and I'm grateful for
your help and suggestions.

Can you answer another quick one to do with uninstalling FP? We need to get
it off the 2nd computer. Under "Program Files" there is still a directory
called "microsoft frontpage" with a subdirectory of "version 3.0" with
another subdirectory called "bin". They all appear to be empty, so we tried
to delete them. Couldn't - we got the message that "bin" was running and in
use by another application. Can you tell me how to get rid of it??

Thanks again
Lesley

That directory is not a part of FP
(it is installed by windows and not deletable)
