FP 2002 - Problems creating a new web

Pamela

Hi there,

I am currently using FP2002 running XP SP2. A few weeks ago, I created a
new web site using the personal web template without difficulty. However,
now when I try to create another new web using the personal web template, I
get the following error:

"Server error: Warning: Your FrontPage web content is stored on a FAT file
system. Anyone will be able to browse the content of your FrontPage web.
To enable FrontPage's access protection, uninstall the FrontPage server
extensions, reconfigure your Microsoft Internet Information Server to use an
NTFS partition and reinstall the FrontPage server extensions."

Can anyone tell me why I am receiving this error now when I had no problems
before? Also, is there a workaround this issue without having to uninstall,
reconfigure, and reinstall as stated in the error message?

Thanks for any help!
Pamela

Apparently you may be running Win XP Pro on FAT 32 vs NTFS and trying to use IIS (the FP SE and a local server)
- was this PC an upgrade from an older OS
- FAT 32 is not recommended for Win XP or IIS
See Windows help on converting your hard disc from FAT 32 to NTFS
- right click My computer - Manage - Disc Management
- can be done w/ losing any data
- will require reinstalling IIS an the FP SE
