FP 2002 Won't upload since Windows SP2

David W

Has anyone experienced or know what to do as FP 2002 has
not allowed me to upload my Web since installing Windows
SP2.
I've turned OFF the Firewall,
I've added frontpg.exe to the Exclusion list &
I've cursed the machine for not performing (just hoping it
would hear me),
But all to no avail.

Any ideas would be appreciated as I'm considering in
removing SP2 if I can't resolve it.

Stefan,
Have read your reply and enclosed the following for you.

The First error window displays
.. A Web does not exist at
ftp://[email protected]. Would you like
FrontPage to create a web at that location? (Answering OK,
the next window is displayed)

.. Unable to
open 'ftp://[email protected]'. Possible causes:
1. The web server may not have FrontPage Server
Extensions installed.
2. The web server may be temporarily out of service.
3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the
proxy settings may be incorrect.
4. An error may have occurred in the web server.

I have grabbed a spare Hard Disk, performed a clean
install of Windows XP,
o brought it up to SP1,
o then loaded Office XP, FrontPage & Publisher 2002,
o brought them up to date with SP3
o brought across the Web from the original Hard Disk
& Uploaded the changes without a hitch.
o then loaded SP2 and again the same error messages
appear as above.

I'm able to access the internet with Explorer without a
hitch, Email messages either through Outlook or Outlook
Express work fine (this is with both Hard Disks) yet
Windows SP2 has altered something to dampen FrontPage
2002's operability.

If there is any other data that you may be thinking of you
wish to view or for me to perform something, do let us
know.

Again thanks.

David W.

I would recommend asking in the Windows XP group, as SP2 has wreaked havoc
with many computers, and there may be some special settings you need to
change.
