FP 2003 install

Just upgraded to WinXP which is working great. I bought FP2003 and started installation. After I put in the product key code a message read "Setup cannot continue because installation source has been corrupt" Does that mean the cd is bad? I just bought it!

thank you, I did see this article but wasn't sure if it referred to Frontpage2003 as it describes the error message occurring in installation of Office 2003. I thought of trying it but it directs you to repair the current installation of IE in Add/Remove Programs and I don't have IE listed. I do have the IE icon on my desktop and that is how I access internet. Do you have any ideas for me? Thank you.

Worth trying
- many of the KB articles have not been updated yet to reflect the newer version of MSO

Try copying the contents of your FP2003 CD to a subdirectory on your
hard drive (make sure that ALL of the files and subdirectories are
copied). Then install FP2003 from that location.

I have had this problem (but only with certain programs and pretty much
all Microsoft programs) ever since upgrading to WinXP. This solution was
suggested by an MVP in one of the other MS newsgroups. I have no idea
why it's necessary but after spending several hours exploring other
"fixes" suggested in the KB, I gave in and used this one - at least it
works.

thanks, but it didn't work. i got the same message after trying to install
from the hard drive. i've search the microsoft web site and there's nothing
except the instructions in the link provided by stefan and that didn't work.
i've searched google, etc. but can't find anything. and on the frontpage box
wouldn't you know there's absolutely no phone number or even mention of
support. any other suggestions??

I bought the windows xp professional upgrade yesterday, version 2002. When I go into add/remove programs, it shows windowsxp, plus a bunch of "hotfix" 's and also a bunch of (SP2) which I assume mean Service Pack 2. I think that is the latest. i can't believe i'm the only one that is having this problem.

Have you run the repairs to IE in the KB article I linked to?

i did but it didn't work. meanwhile i found instructions to fix a corrupted IE6 or OE6 file which is what seemed to be the problem. run system file checker included in windows xp by clicking start, run, and typing sfc \scannow in the open box. then reboot and see if fixed. it was for me and fp2003 installed fine. thanks to all!
