FP 2003 + interactive buttons + search

D

Deb

I am using FP 2003. I'm self-taught but have been doign web pages a few
years but haven't gotten in to full features of this or the previous
versions that I've used however I've been able to effectively utilize
different features to do a few web sites and have done fine. Until now.

Recently, one of the sites that I maintain has started having difficulty
displaying the interactive buttons we're using for navigation. I don't know
why. It was working fine & then suddenly, some of the buttons aren't
changing out but instead are displaying incorrect information that is
associated with other buttons when I click the button displayed. I've tried
removing buttons, re-creating & reposting but so far, that's not working.
Any suggestions?

I've also been asked to add a search feature for within a web site to enable
visitors to search for real estate properties listed by the MLS # we use to
reference the ad pages posted for viewing. I'm green to this but have read
both online information & from a book specificially purchased to assist in
taking full advantage of this software. I'm not having any luck. What I
want it to do is set up a search that is defined to pull up the web page
associated with the MLS# (e.g. if person enters "33333" in search box, I
want the result to show the page named 33333.htm) but when I've experimented
with the search feature for the web site, originally I got a message that it
couldn't locate a page and then I got every possible option associated with
the number displayed in table format. I can not locate information to
better define the search feature and/or display results. Can someone either
explain how this works or please direct me to a resource where I can get
this information?

Thank you all for your assistance & patience while I learn.
Debbie

For your IB problem, post a URL for the published site and the details of the button w/ the problem

Your MLS search sounds like you will need to use a database

Thank you for responding.
The site is at http://www.mcateerealty.com/

It can be any given button on any page in site at any point. I made buttons
via interactive button feature. Usually, I get the highlight color with
mouseover but then it's as if the button doesn't change out to next step &
get "blank" and/or partial view of what should see with next button prior to
the new page appearing. The site/buttons had been working fine until this
past weekend. Now, it's as if things are very sluggish & the buttons aren't
changing out like they use to do but I can't seem to discover why the
change.

Suggestions on what to check next is appreciated. Thanks again.

Your problem is your IB are in your left shared border
(thus your main page are missing the BODY onload required)
- see the problems and workarounds at http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp/b/buttons/
