FP Extensions on 2003 Server

U

Umar Farooq

I have a 2003 Server with the Primary partition as Fat32, 2nd partition
for Programs also on Fat32 and the third partition on NTFS. I've used
this scheme for ease of use. I've had the server Blue Screen twice and
I'm keeping an image on file for easier recovery.

I am trying to install Web services and Front Page extensions.
However, every time I try to install FP Extension, it gives me an error
message that FP extensions can not be installed on a FAT32 partition.
What I want to know is how can I get the installation to use the NTFS
partiton instead of the default?

Please help.

Thanks in advance,

-Umar.

1. IIS from the Windows 2003 Server CD, must be installed under NTFS, and the extensions must be
installed from the Windows 2003 CD, you can not install any other version of the FP extensions from
the MS download site. Also you can not install the extensions in different location from IIS.

2. You are defeating all of the Windows 2003 security by running FAT32, which may be why you are
getting a blue screen, you might want to post to the Windows Server newsgroup for help with this.
