I seem to recall that there was a way to have fp server extensions installed
on computer with xp home. If so, does anybody have a link, have googled and
not found much.

Not XP Home - you'd need XP Pro. You need a web server running and IIS
(Internet Information Server) comes with XP Pro, which allows you to install the
FP server extensions and use your machine as a web server for testing the full
functionality of the site as if it was hosted on a remote web host.

I believe he could put Apache on Windows XP Home and then use the FP extensions in there.

You can install Apache on Windows XP Home, however there are no FP extensions that support Apache
running under Windows.

There are no FP extensions for any web server running under Windows XP unless running Windows XP Pro
with IIS.

What about in Cygwin?

There are FP extensions for UNIX. Cygwin is UNIX like. Apache can be run from Cygwin. Why then not be able to install the FP extensions for UNIX in Cygwin and use the Apache server there? I am not saying it can be done just that in principle this should be possible Windows XP Home or not.

Go look at the download site for the current FP Extensions, there is no version for Apache or any
other the server running under the Windows OS, except for IIS which is only supported on Windows
2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro or the various Windows server versions.

The only version of the FP extensions on the MS site is for Apache under Unix/Linux, however Ready
To Run software may have ported the extensions to other OS.
