FP Extensions

I maintain a website using FP2000, with FP extensions installed on the
server. The site requires a custom 404 page, and after some trials, it looks
like the only way to get there is to uninstall the extensions and create a
new .htacess file to handle the custom page. I use the "include page"
feature, but none of the other bells & whistles, such as hoover buttons, hit
counters, etc. If I uninstall the extensions and use FP only as an ftp
client, can I still use include pages? Anything else I'll be giving up?
Thanks for your help,
JW

Include pages do not require the extensions.
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281532/ for a list of components
that do require them.

It may be possible to edit the .htaccess file in the root folder (I did
it a few years ago) - any additional code (for the 404 page) MUST go
after the FrontPage stuff.
