FP extesions disappear Fix

Hello all!

I recently posted a thread entitled " FronPage Extensions
not installed" well I found the fix and some of the MVP's
might want to here this too.
I am running IIS 5.1 and XP Pro.
I am the server host.
I created the website in FP2002.
Ok here it is. In XP Pro if you install a certificate
from a CA you are able to turn on SSL>> Ok, no Problem.
But if you select 128 bit encryption from the Directoy
Security tab and then go to FP later to update the site
FP will give you an error that there are [no Server
extensions installed] no matter what you do you will not
find them. Ah Ha ! but you know damn well you installed
them. Well, where did they go? Dont worry they are still
there (little devils)

Here is what can happen to you. If you select the require
SSL and then select 128 encryption it will be available
(the encryption) but if you deselect SSL and not deselect
128 the 128 will remain layered under the SSL Therefore
hiding your extensions. The deselection of require SSl
does not automatically remove the 128 encryption even
though it appears that it is because it is not
highlighted (available).

Fix: go back into the Directory Security tab and deselect
the 128 you can only do this if the REQUIRE SSL is
checked. Therefore uncheck the 128 and you can leave
require it will still allow you to find the server
extensions.

Hope I was of some service.
Joseph

Update to my previous post You maynot have any of the SSL
checked but make sure you do not have the 128 checked
before you uncheck the Require.
Sorry memory lapse
