FP freezes when I "insert picture from file"

Hello,

I don't know if this problem is unique to my computer or if it's an issue
that can be resolved:

Every time I "insert picture from file", it takes a really long time to
navigate from one folder to another. Eventually I will be able to navigate
to the desired folder, but not before waiting minutes for that to happen.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

That's because FrontPage is "processing" the image, which is something your
really don't want FrontPage to do.

Either import the images or copy and paste them to a location inside your
web and then insert them into your pages.

Follow up question, please.

How do you fix it if you've already done many photos the 'wrong' way?
I inherited the site and have been learning on the fly and keep reading that
this was a Bad Way to get my images inserted.

Bonus points for related question that's OT: one downside of using the Wrong
Method (above) seems to be that ALL files for the site are in the root
directory. The more photos I add, the more crowded that folder is getting.

Is there a successful way to move images into the folder 'images' or even
subfolders inside of *that*?
Scared to experiment and mess something up fatally.
