FP Login Publishing

I have logged on succesfully in the past but now I am attempting to log onto
remote site to update some files and FP does not accept my password. I know
the pasword is good, as I can use it to sigm in directly(
admin.becentralhost). Any ideas...

Have your host reset / repair the FrontPage extensions.
Unless you can do it yourself with a control panel.

I reset extensions by logging on direcly, but still unable to log on thru FP

Additional info: this is the message from FP:

The server cpa125.com at Front Page Login requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent
in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

Try this:
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with
Expression Web Designer and SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.
