FP2002 "fractional" font size question?

Say I highlight some text (in normal view) then go to the font size dropdown
box I notice I can put in a "fractional" size- say 8.5 pt. I never knew I
could do this- I always thought I was limited to the available dropdown
sizes.

Anyway, when I look at the html view, the point size says 8.5 although the
dropdown box displays 9 pt. No big deal.

Then when I look at preview view and compare the same text at say 8 pt, 8.5
pt, and 9 pt, they are slightly different sizes- just as they should be. No
complaints. Exactly what I expected. Perfect!

My question is this- Will my "fractional" 8.5 point size text display
properly in all browsers or will it be interpreted as either 8 pt or 9 pt?

Thanks!

No. It will display at the whim of the browser. Points are a
printer's measurement, being 1/72nd of an inch. How big is that on a
monitor? To get all browsers to show the same size text specify the
font size in pixels.

At the html / browser level. There is at the system level.

In the Visual Studio IDE through version 2003, when editing forms and
dialogs, you can size / edit to the Twip level
A pixel = 8 Twips.
