FP2002 shared borders prob

B

Bob Fliegel

Just added a new page to my site, but the shared borders for the site do not
appear on that page.

See http://blake57.bizland.com, then click on 50th Reunion button, scroll to
bottom and click on that link (Click to go to Walt McCarthy's Pix). Why might
the banner and nav buttons not be appearing at the top, as they are on all
other pages?

Thanks!

Your entire page content is within your <head> tags.

No, it has not been corrected. You were looking at the wrong page. Scroll to
and click on the link at the very bottom of that page and you will see that
there is no banner/nav buttons at the top of the next.

The top border is being shown in the page - but is the page in the
navigation view? If not, the banner and navigation will be blank, as
you see it.

The banner and nav buttons show up in both Normal and Preview mode, but they
are not being published to the site.

And, yes, the page appears in the navigational structure in the nav view.

How did you publish/upload your site to the live/remote server?

Do not use the function to publish/upload individual pages, use the Change Pages Only option of the
Publish command.

I have tried both methods, but to no avail. My guess is that there's
something wrong with the properties of the nav view box for this page, but
haven't been able to figure out what that might be.

The properties for the banner and navigation in the top border
(_borders/top.htm) indicate that if the page is in the navigation view,
then the Banner and the button for at least the Home page should be
visible.

Open the remote site in FrontPage and check the Navigation View there.
Also run Tools->Recalculate Hyperlinks on both local and remote sites.
