I was trying to edit an online recipe. Somehow Word is changing some
fractions to symbols and not others. I would rather just have no
conversion.

Tools / Auto Correct / Auto Format tab is the location of the option
to replace text with fractions. I use Office 97, so the option may be
a bit different, but this should give you a clue as to where to look.
