Free style paragraph entry into a Form

In using Word 2002, as installed under Office XP, I'm trying to create
a fill-in form with an area for a free style paragraph entry.

I can Draw a Text Box, but then I can't fill it once the document is
protected.

I can insert a Text Form Field, but I want to limit the overall size. If
this free
style entry has to much verbage I don't want it pushing subsequent text down
and off the page.

What I want is a 4.5" wide x 6" long blocked area in a protected form, with
text
wrap enabled. After filling in prior info, the user should be able to 'tab'
to the
free style paragraph area, type in their words (up to block limit) and then
'tab'
to the next form entry.

It shouldn't be so difficult to do, as to consume 2 or 3 hours in figuring
this out.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Right mouse button click on Text Form, then Properties/Maximum Length

Type number of maximum characters.

Also you can put that 'free style entry' or forms in table and make
Table/Table Properties/Row/Specify Height/, Row Height Exactly
(my recommendation)

If I understood you right, you want that user, after filling form, 'tab'
to area where he can type words (not in form)?

In that case you should divided Document in Sections, Insert/Break/Section
break types/Continuous

Finally, Tools/Protect Document/Forms/Sections. Choose sections what you
want protected.

Thanks Duke.

About 30 minutes after I posted, I thought about creating a 1 cell table
and then placing a Text Filed in there. Great minds do think alike.

Thanks again!
