Free trial of Publisher causing problem

P

Penny Farthing

I wonder if anyone can help? I recently downloaded a free trial of Publisher
(which was brilliant by the way) but now I am unable to open Excel. I keep
getting asked to insert the Office disk so that it can configure Front
Page!!!! Well, for a start I can't find my Office disk - is there anything
else I can do to sort this out. I really need to get intoExcel in the next
few days as I use it to issue my invoices and if I can't do that I won't get
paid!!!!!
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply, it may not have been the trial that caused my problem
I didn;t think of that - I had just assumed it was because of the timing. I
am using Office 2002.......I'll have to contact my son to see if he knows
where the disk is.
Have you any other ideas in case I can't find it? I've found Office 2000
but that would probably cause more problems than I have already if I tried
that one I'm sure.

Thanks again

I doubt that downloading Publisher's trial triggered your issue. You need to
find that CD. Which version of Office is it?

Don't put Office 2000 on your system. You can run multiple versions but they
need to be installed in order of release. If you *really* need to use Excel
before you can get with your son, back up all of your files, uninstall the
previous versions of Office, then install 2000. (That seems pretty drastic
tho.)

If you purchased Office separately (not preinstalled) and can provide proof
of purchase, you can try:

I don't know if they can still replace Office XP tho. If your software was
preinstalled, you're up a famous creek without a paddle. (Sorry)
