Freeze or Unlink Multiple Views

I have a view with Gantt Chart in one window and the same Gantt Chart
in another window. Is there a way to unlink the windows so that I can
apply a different filter to each window? Currently, the non-active
window takes on the filter of whatever was applied to the active.

I want to clarify that the main problem is that when a summary task is
contracted in one window (view), the same task gets contracted in the
other windows (views). Same if I expanded a task.

More on this. It appears that turning the Summary Tasks to visible or
not is left to Tools|Options|View|Show Summary Task Checkbox. With
this toggle, every window's summary tasks are dictated by this
switch.

However, I still want to overcome this. Has anyone got a workaround?

Hi Billy,

This newsgroup is closing down.
By all means, why do you post in the VBA group? I have the impression this
has no bearings with VBA.
(Not that I know the answer, I know Project in depth but Windows only
superficially)
Maybe someone can help you in the micxrosoft.public. project NG.

Thanks for responding Jan!

1) Why is this newsgroup closing?
2) Where do you suggest microsoft project VBA questions be discussed?

3) The issue "Freeze or Unlink Multiple Views", you're right,
probably is better asked in the standard newsgroup. The reason I
posted it here is because I was attempting to set views of windows via
VBA.

Hi,

The newsgroup has been replaced by
microsoft.public.project.developer
But for some reason it is kept alive, it has been closing down for several
years now :))
