Freezes when attempting any form of send...

Original HD failed. Was able to locate *.dbx files & retrieve all but one
(attempts to retrieve same .dbx causes drive to "disconnect"). Moved
"rescued"l *.dbx files into appropriate location on new drive, opened Outlook
Express and exported all the folders to Outlook. Now Outlook Express freezes
on send/forward/reply functions although I receive new mail. Outlook has the
same problem. I ran the scanpst.exe tool against the *.pst in Outlook which
appeared to repair problems but I still can't send/forward/reply.
Might there be any other tools that can be run to verify the integrety of
the e-mails that I might retain themt? Or, any suggestions as to what I
should look for in order ot correct the problems of Outlook (and
OutlookExpress) freezing?

Perhaps you might wish to post to an app.specific ng, eg Outlook and IE ng's
, you will need to include versions.
As regard OL I might suggest creating a new pst and using that as your
default data file.

Outlook Express 6 was used as the e-mail client on the drive that failed.
The "rescued" dbx files were moved into OE6 on the new drive. I attempted to
import the folders to Outlook 2000 (SBE) which failed. Exporting them from
OE6 to Outlook generated fewer problems but the results were still negative.
I've established a new pst and Outlook does now work. However, I do need to
retain the previous e-mails. When I move the dbx files into OE6, I can read
them but OE6 doesn't send/reply/forward. When I attempt to export them to
Outlook 2000 SBE, not all folders can be opened and Outlook freezes when I
attempt any action with e-mail.

Having read some posts refering to the size of PSTs, I believe that the main
problem I'm experiencing is due the total size of the e-mails (corruption may
also play a part). Thanks for taking time to respond to my request!
