French accents not showing properly pasting from Word 2004 to Freehand
MX.
French accented characters not showing properly when I paste text from
Word 2004 to Freehand Mx Program. This was previously not a problem
when pasting from Word 10 to Freehand MX.
Not sure if this is a Word 2004 problem or a problem related to
Freehand MX. I even tried saving the document as .rtf format, but with
no luck.

Try pasting to / from another Unicode aware application -TextEdit
perhaps - to identify the guilty party.

Word certainly changed to Unicode in 2004.

Also note that there are a few clipboard preferences to permute in
Freehand and Word.. You should have hours of harmless fun.

If all else fails, use Freehand's find and replace.

Still no luck trying this solution. I feel at this time it is a
Freehand MX problem and the only solution is to use Word X to cut and
paste text into Freehand MX and NOT Word 2004. Until Macromedia gets a
new update to handle Word 2004 text I will continue to use Word X.
