You probably won't see it on the CD because it's probably compressed in a
..cab file. You need to install the French proofing tools by clicking on
Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Microsoft Office | Change |
Add/Remove Features.
I don't believe Office 97 comes with more than one dictionary. IIRC, Office
2000 was the first version to ship with proofing tools for more than one
language.
Oh yeah... you're right. Jeffrey, please forget what I said. Microsoft no
longer offers proofing tools for Office 97. The proofing tools used to be
available for purchase from http://www.alki.com/Win/Office97/pt/, but the
ordering link on that page doesn't seem to be active anymore. The good news
is that you now have a good reason to upgrade to a newer version of Office!
