spell checking only part of a document when using a foreign langua

I'm trying to make corrections on only sections of a document. How can I do
that ? It keeps resetting at the beginning of the document. I writing in
French fromQuebec, Canada. it's working in documents using the English
dictionnary but not in document using the French dictionary.
