Frequent Database Crashes

AK

I have a database on a network drive which is accessed by multiple users.
Recently the database has started to crash with a backup created each time
there is an error. The form fields are replaced with question marks when an
error occurs. Please do send in your suggestions to rectify the problem.

To start with, is your database split? If not you will want to do that as
soon as possible. Second, there is possibly some deep seeded corruption in
your database. I would recommend importing everything into a new database
and then running compact and repair to see if that solves your problem.

Unfortunately there could be many causes for this. However I'd look
to see what changed recently. Was a new workstation added to the
network? A new server put in place? A service pack on the server?
Welding machine on the other side of the wall from a computer?
Laptop or PC on a wireless network?

For more information on corruption including possible causes,
determining the offending PC, retrieving your data, links, official MS
KB articles and a list of vendors who state they can fix corruption
