From Access to Outlook Calendar

I need to import a Birthday database to my Outlook Calendar. I followed all
of the steps and it will import the address information to Contacts but will
not place the birthdates in the calendar. Any Suggestions? Also, will
Access notify me of dates or does that have to be done via Outlook?
