Front End Back End

Maybe a dumb question, maybe not.
I have a split database, a frontend on one computer a backend on another
computer. Do I have to start Access on the computer where the backend
resides? Also I want a different/seperate frontend on the backend
computer that will be launched by Windows Scheduler. Won't there be 2
instances of Access running then? A little confused! Any help is
appreciated.
Thanks

No. Access will run on the front end computers which have the tables from
the
back end .mdb file linked in.

Since the back end computer won't need to run Access to allow the front end
computers to work, there will only be one instance of Access running on the
back end computer. Even if there were two instances, it wouldn't be a
problem.
Access can do that just fine.
