O.K. I have to revise this: it is only happening on one file, right now, and
that is an Excel spreadsheet, and not all the spreadsheet files.
Originally I had thought that it would import none of my spreadsheet files;
but, it's only happening on one. I don't know what is making this file
special.
If I try to import this one particular file, I get the error message:

"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files. Authors - if
authoring against a web server (WHICH I AM NOT, the site is local) please
contact the webmaster for this server's site. Webmaster's please see the
server's system log for more details."

The event viewer says:
Received empty response from Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions
Which, to my knowledge, I am not running.

Again, I'm not aware of anything special about this file that would prevent
it. I *DO* know that if I log onto my external server running FPE, I do not
have this problem.

Any ideas would be helpful.. as you can imagine, not being able to import
files, especially this one, really cripples me. I'm a Rotarian, and this is
the club roster and I need to keep the latest modifications on the site.

I consider this problem, continuous, repeatable, and mission critical.

Check the size of the file. I had a similar problem with a similar response,
and the problem finally was that the file was too large. I hope this helps.
