FRONT PAGE 2003 BLOWUP!

I have a web designed using this software; it is
approximately 90 meg in size.

Just recently, when I loaded the INDEX page, Front Page
suddenly and unexpectedly signed off!

Just GONE!

I increased my page file size, etc., with no results.

I have tried to load the page for revisions ten times,
and it as soon as the page comes up, Front Page shuts
down and goes away.

I know you guys are a lot smarter than me--can you help?

One thought: perhaps you have exceeded the capacity
allowed by your hosting company.

Is the whole site 90 megs or the index page is 90 megs? If the latter then
you must optimize your images and get the page down into the 40 - 60 KB
range. give use more details, please.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE!

The whole site is approximately 90 megs--and the index
page is actually a very small amount--or at least XP
reports that it is 500K...

The index page is, however, the largest page by far (as
you would expect)--and it is the only one that will not
load.

What do you think?

500K index page? That's hardly what I would call a small page, considering
the 10second/40-45K target weight.

What is the page's URI?

500K for a web page is huge - about 20 times the size it should be.
FrontPage has a limit of 32000 lines of code. If the page is exceeding
that, that is why it crashes.

I would expect the index page to be smaller than most other pages - it is
just an introduction to the rest of the site.

I was going to go there, but then I thought - well, it's the index page that
loads all the externally linked files and all the graphics into the cache,
so I could sorta buy into the larger notion.... Still the 10 second rule is
the dominant one here....

500k index page is the LAST page you want to have so huge.

If I go to a site and the main page is still loading after about 20 seconds,
I cancel it and move on.
