Front page email link

Hi,
I'm creating my first web page, and have found it quite easy until I tried
to create a hyperlink on an email address. (I tried it with my hotmail
account, and followed the email button which lead me to fill out the mailto:
and then I just fill in my email address..is this right?).
However, when I preview the web page, and click on the link, I just end up
getting my yahoo webmail homepage.
How do I get it to actually "send me an email"?
(I have not published this to make it live yet because of this)
Thanks

Thanks,
I just changed my default email client to outlook, and that seems to work.
This then makes me wander if this is the best way to create a link on my site
as when another person looks at my site, will that not mean that their
response is dependant on who/what their default email is?
If so, would there be another way to offer some sort of page which they type
their question in, which the site then automatically sends to my email
address?
Thanks!

The mailto link with always open their default email client. If you don't
want that then create a contact form on your site and in the Form Properties
set it to email to you.

You would have to have a form on your site which would then send the email. If you are hosted on a
server that has the FP extensions and is configured to process email, then you can use the FP
Feedback form or a modified version, otherwise check with your web host to see what they offer.
