Front Page Extensions go wild when openning the hosting server

I am having a interesting problem that occurs when I open the hosted site directory with FP. When I do it, all extensions go wild and I loose them, including themes properties, etc. When I am publishing, I get a warning saying that the server does no have the FP xtensions installed, which is not true since I have checked in detail with our hosting server technitians. This problem is very erratic. I have found an article similar to what is happening to me in in http://www.web-1hosting.net/display_topic.php?topic=18 and it worked the first time, but the whole thing does not make sense. Is this happening to me only? Do any of you have a solution to this?
