Front Page Forms and Confirmation Page Q's

?

-

I have a page on my FP 2003 created site with a form on it and a
confirmation page. When the form is filled, the user clicks the submit
button and I am supposed to be email the data from the form and the user is
supposed to be taken/sent to a confirmation page that basically says, "Thank
you, NAME, for your order for your MODEL." The confirmation form is
supposed to retrieve and insert the real name data field info and real model
number data field info from the form and insert them into the appropriate
location in the confirmation page.

My question is what page I am supposed to select in the Forms dialog on the
forms option page (Form > Form Properites then Options > Confirmation Page
tab)?

1. If I point it to the version of the file located on the server, for
example http://www.newwebsite1/confirmation.html, the customer and I just
see "Thank you, NAME, for your order for your MODEL" but the individualized
field data does NOT appear.

2. If I select the version of the page located on my hard drive, for example
c:\my web files\newwebsite1\confirmation.html, then the form will display
the client's correct name and model number field data on the confirmation
page they see online after submission BUT the confirmation page will also
sometimes display field data for other orders that have already been placed!
This unwanted information will appear at the end of the page like it was
added on. The actual confirmation page on the web server gets rewritten
with this information added at the very bottom of the page.

I had my page set at #1 for a long time and it seemed to work. Now it
doesn't or I am just going crazy.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Doug

You must set the page to #2, then publish the site to a server that has the FP extensions via FP's
http mode.
