Front page-want to make changes to existing site-no prior knowled

My website can use front page to make changes. My objective is to make
changes/updates on a daily basis. But, I have no knowlege of programming or
creating a website. The site was created by an outside party, who is no
longer available to help. What should I do? Any suggestions?

If your site is hosted by a commercial provider, go to their site and and see if
you can determine what is included in your plan. You probably won't understand the
answers, but note them for future reference.
Read the help file, Google for tutorials, get Jim Buyens book(written for FP
2002), study and practice. Until you are able to figure out if the site has FP
extensions (ask the hosting company, or server admin), or any page on the site
uses them, don't use FTP to upload or download content. It'll all make sense
before you know it.
Come to the newsgroups often. There is a blue ton to be learned here.

IF your site has FP extensions enabled, then open the site "live" (the web on the server) then Publish it to your local hard drive...\My Documents\My Web\whateveryouwantcallitweb.

Then you can work on it on your local machine and Publish changes back to the server.

Use Publish...not Import.

(if kitten365 has not got access to offline (pc based, stored) files, then
the remainder of this message applies, otherwise please ignor)

how?

I do not know what you mean by this.
and I am sure Kitten365, who said 'has prior knowledge' would have a clue.

quote from kitten365: 'My website can use front page to make changes.'
therefore I suggested she find out her user name and password to enable her
to IMPORT her site into FrontPage, allowing her to make changes 'daily' and
then and only then publish the changes to her web space.

You don't want to use Import. Import will only bring down what the browser sees.

You open your live web/site by Open FP, File | Open Web/Site, type in http://www.yourwebname.xxx once you have the site opened you go File | Publish Web/Site and Publish it to your hd...usually C:\My Documents\My Webs\whateveryouwanttocallyourweb.

This is assuming that the web/site has extensions (it sounded like it did by op)
