Frontpage 2000 closes when opening a file

I recently had a hard drive failure and since restoring my data and apps I
can no longer get FrontPage 2000 to run on my Windows XP Pro OS. As soon as
I open an HTML file the app simply closes. No errors - just closes.
Same thing happens when I create a file and attempt to save it.

Also have Visual SourceSafe 6 loaded on my machine --

Have tried everything I can think of to no avail. And suggestions would be
appreciated.

Loaded the app from the original CD over a fresh OS. Copy my code from my
portable hard drive.

Was working at first - then stopped after I'd loaded more apps. Tried
unloading FrontPage, VB6 and VSS but have had no luck getting it to work.

Run Detect and Repair from the help dropdown in FrontPage.

And then install any applicable office updates.

The other apps should have no effect on FrontPage.

I have:
FP 2002
FP 2003
Publisher ( don't ask why )
Visual Studio 98 and its MSDN library
Visual Studio 2003 .NET and its MSDN library
Plus much more all installed on the same machine, and they all play nice together.
