I am now creating shared templates for my web within
FrontPage 2000.
It appears that FrontPage seems to be saving the template
files within my C drive at the following location...
C:\Documents and Settings\lt012\Application
Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\Pages
When I choose the 'open' option from the file menu however
I can see a _sharedtemplates folder within the web. This
is not visible however when looking directly at the folder
menu within FrontPage. Very confusing!
I tried using a different machine networked to mine and
realised that these files were available in FrontPage
using that machine as well. So I decided everything was
OK.....
Until I created templates for the pages within my subwebs.
After creating the new template for my first subweb I went
to Page - 'new' to create a new page using the new
template for that web. Unfortunately the includes are not
loading within the template for the subweb. For every
include there is an error message 'Couldn't open file'.
When the page has loaded everything has loaded fine except
the includes which appear with this
message '[fpweb:///top_nav.htm]' as if it can't find the
location of the includes.
I would love to hear from anyone who may be able to help.
