Frontpage 2000 uploading Troubleshooting

MARKY

Hi there, is there anyone out there that can resolve my
problem? When I try to upload my web pages to the server
I keep getting a window up saying: "This operation
requires author permission for www.server.co.uk:80" For
some reason it will not accept my user name & password.
The frontpage server extensions seem to be installed ok,
I have even spoke to the hosts regarding this problem but
they are scratching their heads as well! Please can
anyone help?

PS: I have tried numerous things to sort this problem,
but I can't seem to over come it!

Just based on the information you provided, it appears your host needs to
give you author permissions.

I assume that by "upload" you mean "publish".

Did this used to work? If so, try scanning your hard disk
for .web files and deleting them. If that doesn't do it,
try this procedure:

FrontPage Publish Command Fails

If this is a new site, open your remote site in
FrontPage, choose Tools, Server, Permissions, and see if
a Permissions Administration Page comes up. If so:

o Under Users and Roles, click Manage Users and make
sure the account you're using is present and has
the permissions you want.

o If you get a page that states:
Using same permissions as parent web
Change permissions
Then either click Change Permission and Use Same
Permissions As Parent Web Site, or start over
using the parent of the current subweb.

If you can't get the Permissions Administration Page to
come up, your host need to reset security for you.
