FrontPage 2002 and XHTML

Paul

OK, a simple question I hope. I'm using FrontPage 2002 SP-2 to maintain a
small group web site. I'm trying to write valid XHTML 1.0 code and >I< have
no problem doing that. However, if I let FrontPage reformat the page it will
mess things up. Is there anyway to get FrontPage 2002 to understand XHTML?
It would be nice if FrontPage would insert <br /> or <hr /> etc so I didn't
have to go back and clean up after it. Right now I have that reformat
feature turned off which saves some work, but there are others in the group
can make changes and ....

I don;t think there's a way of telling FP2002 to *always*
create XHTML code, but you can right-click a page in HTML
view and select Apply XML Formatting Rules from the
shortcut menus.

Even this, however, won't change <br> to <br />. This is
because some browsers choke on <br />.

Hi Jim,

In my copy of FrontPage 2002, <br> and <hr> are changed to <br /> and <hr
/>.

You're right. I must have hit the wrong command when I tested this.

Thanks for speaking up.
