FrontPage 2003 can't paste text code in a new page

K

kmuel

When I copy code from another page and try to paste it into a new blank page,
all that is pasted is this:

<img
src="file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Joe/Local%20Settings/Temporary%20Internet%20Files/FrontPageTempDir/wpojs1bi.gif">

However, In Dreamweaver, everything works fine when I paste the code.

I don't understand what's going on here.

Any Ideas?
Thanks

Yes of course-This is the strangest thing and I can't get any work done.
Do you know anything about this?

all that is pasted is this

What do you expect to be pasted? What is missing?

If you are worried about the reference to
src="file://C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/...etc
then save the new page before you paste. Until the page is saved, and
therefore a part of your web, FrontPage will convert all links to absolute
references, thus maintaing the link to the referenced object.

The OP is trying to paste that img src tag, and "it's not working"!

To the O.P.: try pasting the above line into Notepad, then repeat the copy
& paste from Notepad to Frontpage (code view).

Make sure you have saved the page you are copying from first.

Must I do this in FP?
I have not bothered to do this with my Dreamweaver and FP used to work w/o
saves.
Must be a setting? But where???

There is no setting, but try it to see if it solves the problem.
