FrontPage 2003 Saving Files Problem

R

ROD

FrontPage will not quickly save single or multiple pages. It takes a long
time and seems to want to save into
C:/Temporay InternetFiles/fronpagedirectory/sdsdsds.tmp..... all was ok
until 10 days ago and now it's dreadful to tray and quicly save anything.
EXCEPT when I take the same web page and save to DeskTop or another location
apart from MyDocs/MyWebSites/

Any thoughts please

Yes I have created many sites and none will save properly when saving -
frontpage also says "requesting data which takes so long to do. I have tried
all things to fix this problem - reparining - reinstalling/fixing/et etc. FP
still takes an age to save even a single page looks for the temp file to
save. SAVE AS AND SAVE all have the same long wait when saving.

What FrontPage version and what operating system??

It shouldn't be trying to Save to the location you specified.

Hi Steve

I'm running FP 2003 on XP HOME - had all the other versions of FP and this
is doing me in. Just can't save files to the default folder where I hold all
my sites - all written in FP most without themes. When I save it's trying to
save into C:Temporay Internet Files/FrontPageTempDir.eieie.tmp ..... bottom
bars also say !requesting data" the hard drive grinds on and takes for ever
to save.

Close FrontPage.
Search for and delete all files found when searching for files named *.web

Then copy and paste this into either Start > Run or the IE address bar and click OK or Go:

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir

The folder that opens, ( named FrontPageTempDir ) "should" be empty. If not delete *all* files and
folders that are in it.

Yep I said "delete all"

Then reopen FrontPage and a web and see if there's an improvement.
