Frontpage 2003 won't accept files...

Hi -
I'm on Frontpage 2003 and I'm using Windows Media On Demand Producer
(WMODP) to convert wav audio files to wma files for playback on a website
that I manage. Usually, I merely set the destination folder in WMODP to be
the web folder that I want the wma files to go to. Only now, Frontpage 2003
(or my web folder there) does not seem to get the files at all or FP won't
let them into the web folder for some reason. WMODP seems to be working
correctly because I tried chosing a non-web folder for the wma files to go
to and it worked there just fine. (I've been doing that in the meantime and
using Windows XP Pro to move the files to my web folder from there - an
extra step I'm having to do).
Are there some settings about file types for importing that I need to
change in Frontpage 2003 ? I've never had this problem with FP 2003 before
now. Thanks,...Frank Bright

You need to use FrontPage to import the files, or you need to drag and
drop or copy and paste the files into a folder opened in FrontPage
folder view.

Hi -
Thanks Steve. Thats pretty much what I'm already doing to make it work.
But before now, I never had this problem - I was able to direct the
converted files right from WMODP into my Frontpage Web folder. It's worked
for years, I'll tell you that, because I've been doing it this way for 3+
years. Oh well, you learn something new everyday. Thanks,..Frank

Are you referring to a "Web Folder" that you have set up on your PC that you
are saving the files to from the WMODP? This would let you view
files/folders on the web server and also the names and file sizes of web
server files. That would be using http to view the files that are on the
server in file form rather than viewing in Internet Explorer. If you have
recently upgraded the WMODP application then it may be the culprit. Can you
move any other files to your server via the web folder by using copy/paste?

Hi Jeff -
My web folder is a disk-based web I've created on my PC, apart from using
WMODP. In the WMODP program, I reach a point in the encoding interface where
it asks me to define the "Destination Directory for the Output File" and
there's a 'browse' button to the right to locate the folder I want the wma
files to fo to. This is most of what I know - I don't know or see anything
about WMODP being able to use http to view or read files on the server. But
I'm not really knowledgeable there either. I can tell you that I have not
upgraded Windows Media On Demand Producer; from what I know, the software is
actually not supported anymore, nor is it even offered by Microsoft at this
stage I believe. Many Thanks for your help - I'm still open to
ideas,....Frank

After adding / changing any files in a FP site from a 3rd party tool outside of the FP web , always run a Tools Recalculate
Hyperlinks when you reopen the FP site
