Is there a newer version than 2003? If so, does it make life a whole lot
easier for people who do not care to learn how to write script, just point
and click and get all your special effects, mouse-overs etc.

...but, using all of these features, and FP 2003 in general, requires someone
who is a bit savvy about html, scripting, etc.

FP 2003 is not for the faint-of-heart compared to previous versions. ;-)

Ok! I took the plunge and educated myself for the first time with Java
Script Editing. Thought it took hours to learn, "and you all can relate to
this", now it only it takes a few minutes to edit a Java script and make it
work in web pages. Phew!!!!!!! I'm pooped but I want to thank all of you
that understand how to write script or find the web pages with tutorials. I
was able to take a one little step forward in this incredible journey by
putting links in that create sound and created a button that when clicked,
also makes sound. In the scheme of things, it's just barely a scratch on the
tip of an iceberg, for me, it's a big step forward to feeling more confident
about editing pre-written Scripts to work in my own web pages.

Thanks!

I don't quite understand. Front Page's mouse over behaviors is as easy and
intuitive as any I've seen out there. Here's a tutorial I did on them.
http://frontpagesolutions.com/tutorials/misc/3/index.htm
Doing remote or disjointed rollovers is just as easy. There are other
click and point features like adding sound, drop down menu's and new window
behaviors just as easy. About the only real big thing this version missed
in my opinion is an easier and more controllable dhtml menu feature. In
time if the Front Page community is as energetic as Dreamweavers the code
snippets also have real possibilty.

Tom! I've lurked too long in this group to know you are nothing but a big
supporter of FP so I dare not pick a fight with you I just don't know how
much easier some of these things could be made without just going over to
one's house or place of business and doing it for them.

I have FrontPage 2000, there is nothing intuitive about it as far as mouse
overs are concerned. The only thing it offers is Hover Buttons which I have
been frankly told "are antiquated" for many reasons. So, I have been
reading all the posts from different experts on FrontPage 2000 and 2003 and
I see that 2003 would probably be a nice upgrade. However, I am determined
to learn how to edit pre-written scripts so they work with Frontpage2000.
Sound like a good idea? ;-)

Yes
FP2003 has many pre-packaged JavaScript Behaviors but you should learn JavaScript to understand how they work & what you can / can't
modify
