Frontpage and Search engines

I have published my website and search engines do not
display my site name with their results.
I have entered keywords in the custom tab of the page
properties window. I entered the keywords on the bottom
half of the meta variable window "user variable" - NAME -
Keywords and then the keywords.

Am I in the right place or did I do something wrong?

Have you actually submitted your site to the search engines?

Assuming the words you entered were separated by commas (if that even matters) that's all you should have to do. However only certain search engines will pick that up as far as I know. And it takes a while (couple weeks possibly) before it will start to be seen

If you have never actually submitted your site..it may not show on any of
them. If you haven't this is a good place to start:

http://dmoz.org/

Keep in mind however it can take many weeks or months before you actually
start to get listed.
