Frontpage Express freezing when adding a hyperlink

I have researched, and I have found that it seems to be a common problem
that when attempting to create a hyperlink in Frontpage Express, the program
suddenly freezes, and requires a control-alt-delete and "end task" in order
to close the program.

This is an odd problem, because it usually doesn't happen on the first
attempt to create a hyperlink, but begins (for me at least) after the third
or fourth attempt to create one. This seems to be common as well, as I saw
a post on this same problem stating that it happens "nine out of ten times".

A common solution found in replies is to delete all .tmp files. I have done
this, and it has failed to solve this problem. My own attempt at a solution
by uninstalling the program--uninstalling from Control Panel, deleting the
Frontpage directory manually, deleting all Frontpage-related registry keys,
clearing the Internet cache, deleting all offline content, emptying the
recycle bin, rebooting, reinstalling Frontpage Express, rebooting once
again, and then running the program again--has also failed to solve this
problem.

Strangely, when I have been forced to use control-alt-delete during a freeze
of this program, and I saw that another unrelated program (my virus scanner
in at least one instance) was also giving a "not responding" message, and I
close that program, the dialog box suddenly opens up as it should. This
might suggest a RAM issue, and I do currently have only 64MB of RAM, but I
have had this program work before without problems under only 24MB of RAM,
as well as the 64MB I currently have.

One recent change I have made to my computer is to install Win98SE in place
of the Win95 I currently had. This required me to backup my main HD and
format it. After the installation, I copied the programs back from my
backup and reinstalled all of the programs that needed to be reinstalled,
including Frontpage Express. The program worked with no problems in Win95
and IE 5.5, but it is now giving me problems in Win98SE and IE 6.0.

Please give me any help with this problem anyone can. Thank you.
