Frontpage Forum reply doesn't work

In a martial arts website we have a discussion forum. Some time back, I
tried to add a second forum, to allow specific interest focus. This did not
work, so I removed the new forum, leaving only the original one. When I
view a post on the forum and attempt to reply to it, the progress bar
proceeds about 3 or 4 bar sections, then hangs, and after a long while, an
error is reported that the server was not found/available. Some of our
users report this issue, others do not seem to have this problem occur on
the same forum.

Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a server extensions issue....

What is the exact error (wording) you're getting?
ask your host to run a health check on the FPSE (or do so yourself if you
can install/uninstall/check the extensions through a control panel feature
on your hosting account).

Anyway, do the check, and see if that makes a difference.
